| CERTIFICATIONS AND AGREEMENT |
The Certifications and Agreement must be read and signed prior to submitting your idea:
By submitting a Business Idea ("the Idea") to SAB KickStart ("the Competition"), each contestant listed
below agrees to the following conditions:
Originality of Plan. The ideas and concepts set forth in the Idea are the original work of the Contestants,
and the Contestant is under no agreement or restriction that prohibits or restricts his or her ability to disclose
or submit such Ideas or concepts to the Competition.
Compliance with Guidelines of the Competition. Each Contestant has reviewed the Competition
Guidelines ("the Guidelines") and by his or her signature below certifies that this entry and the team or
individual it represents complies with the Guidelines and agrees to abide by the Guidelines.
Waivers and Releases. Each Contestant understands that each of SAB KickStart Judges, Trainers and
Mentors, Co-organisers and Co-ordinators (the "Competition Officials") and its directors, officers, partners,
employees, consultants, and agents (collectively "Organiser Representatives") are under no obligation to
render any advice or service to any Contestant. The Contestant acknowledges and understands that the
views expressed by any Competition Official or Organiser Representatives are their own and not those of
SAB KickStart or any person or entity.
By entering the competition the contestant accepts that the competition officials have the right to forward
the idea to the competition officials for screening, judging, in line with the competition guidelines.
Each Contestant also understands and agrees that, although the Competition Officials have taken and will
take the steps described in the Guidelines regarding confidentiality of the Ideas and plans submitted by the
Contestants, the legal protection of the ideas plans submitted by the Contestants to the Competition is the
sole responsibility of the Contestant. In consideration of the time, expertise, and other resources provided
by the Competition Officials and Organizer Representatives to the Competition, each Contestant hereby
voluntarily releases each Competition Official and each Contest Co-coordinator from any further liabilities,
responsibilities, and accountabilities relating to or arising out of such Competition Official’s or Organizer
Representative's participation in the Competition.
Competition Rules
1. The competition is open to all members of the public who are between 18 and 35 years of age and is a
permanent resident in the Republic of South Africa. A certified copy of a South African Identity Document
must accompany the application.
2. Participation constitutes acceptance of the rules and instructions pertaining to this competition and entrant
agree to abide by the rules.
3. The closing date for this competition is 25 June 2010 and all entries must reach South African Breweries Ltd.
By no later than noon of the closing date. No late entries or facsimile entries will be accepted.
4. South African Breweries Ltd. Will not be held responsible for the loss of any entry forms or documentation.
5. Only entries with all accompanying documentation will be entered into the competition. It is the entrant’s
responsibility to ensure all documentation is present and correct.
6. Entrants must be prepared to be flown to Johannesburg for the final award ceremony.
7. Entrants must be able to run and manage their business on a full-time basis.
8. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. SAB reserves the right to make media announcements, publications of the winners of the competition,
photography and follow-up interviews.
10. The governing law to apply in respect of this competition is that of the Republic of South Africa.
11. Successful entrants agree to have their business progress tracked annually for a period of five years.
12. Competition entries ‘Business Idea’ cannot be changed during the competition.
